June 28, 2009 This is my first try at uploading a sim. She's just in a .sim package, so just unrar and dump her into your SavedSims folder. I think anyway. Feel free to email me if it doesn't work out the way I planned (email link up top). Click the top photo to download Betsy. She was born in game and a granddaughter of a CAS sim. Her grandfather was a Maxis sim, and her father was a sim I downloaded.
June 16, 2009 Well, I just uninstalled the Sims 2. I don't have a lot of time for gaming anymore, and I'm having plenty of fun exploring Sims 3, and I needed the space on my hard drive. Yes, there are a lot of annoyances with Sims 3, but it's fun to have something NEW. March 30, 2009 If you have an account on TSR, you should probably read this thread regarding more privacy violations and/or failures. March 27, 2009 A new dorm! Simvention had a fun contest to build a dorm. I went a little afield of the instructions but this was the dorm in my head, French Quarter Scholars Dorm. Housing five students in relative luxury (almost pegged environment scores) and with some free space to add your own touches, FQS Dorm requires all expansions and Mansions and Garden. I also used a few things from Kitchen and Bath, but if you use clean installer, I don't think that will matter, just go replace the fridge and dishwasher. Click on the pic to go to the download/information page and for more pictures.
January 20, 2009 One year ago today, I watched Barack Obama's MLK day speech and began to believe that change really could come to America. That my hope of a better world, long since pounded to dust, could be reborn. I posted about it here. Now my dreams, and the dreams of millions of Americans, have come to pass. I love my country. I've always considered myself a patriot and today I am truly proud to be an American. January 5, 2009 First post of 2009! Joy and sorrow.
Fun new challenge at simvention, a modified Legacy challenge. Everyone starts with the same founder and we see how they all evolve. December 29, 2008 Waahh! I can't convince my husband to drive us to the ocean. I've lived in the bay area for 4.5 months now, and have yet to go see the ocean. It's supposed to be sunny and almost 60 today. All the family came out for Christmas. The last of them left yesterday. It was great seeing everyone and having everyone out here. Next year, though, I think it will be easier just for us to go back to Nebraska. We went into the city Friday and Saturday. We did the Fisherman's Wharf, touristy thing, and shopping at the "swirly" mall (otherwise known as SF center). I had to buy a suit for (hopefully) upcoming interviews. Bloomingdales. OMG, even on sale I about had a heart attack. I spent more on one outfit than I probably have spent on my clothes for 5 years altogether.
Sims: I've still been playing my medieval neighborhood, though my daughter has pretty much commandeered it. I'm thinking of starting a mutual legacy that is in the planning stages at simvention and/or starting a modified prosperity challenge. December 18, 2008 Betrayed! Frost. Frost on the car windows. No one told me I would get frost in the bay area. Thankfully, I had the scraper (of Nebraska blizzards and ice storms) still in the trunk. December 15, 2008 I don't believe it. I have finished my first semester in law school. I thought I would be over the moon. And I was really excited before and during my last final tonight. But now I'm just kind of numb. I suppose sitting on your butt for 4 hours and typing 14 pages will do that to you :). I actually do have something new going on in my sims. I started a period/theme neighborhood that is actually starting to click for me. Over the next 4 weeks I'll surely have a bit of spare time to post some pics. So what have all you been up to? November 11, 2008 Some downloads! I just can't stay away from SimVention and their contests. First up, a maxis only contest that's still underway if you want to enter! It's not finished and polished on the outside but I may never get to that. I have all expansion packs + Kitchen and Bath.
Download Here! Next up is a context from last month, building an apartment building for witches. This does have some custom content, walls and floors with one object, a shower, but if you use Clean Installer you can filter all those out without incident I expect. Each apartment is a studio apartment, identical in construction, different in theme. Landscaped but not decorated.
Download Here! Also, I uploaded a bedding to simvention as part of the Custom Content Quickie (for OCT). Serene Autumn Splendor Bedding November 5, 2008 I don't even know to express in words what this election means to me. If you look back to when I first posted my Simmers for Obama post, in January or February, you will get a glimpse of what I believe this could mean for this country. I believe again. September 25, 2008 Like I suspected, law school pretty much takes up all my time. I did get Apartment Life and have spent a little bit of time checking it out, but not much. I miss building houses! And making recolors. My dh got Spore and wow, what a disappointment. It was kinda cool... for 2 hours. What a lot of hype and years to make it for.. not much fun. Will Wright might just not have the knack anymore. Sad. August 6, 2008 I just haven't been able to get into playing any particular sims i.e. starting over. I've tried 3 different times to found a neighborhood that struck a chord. To console myself I bought Sims Castaway. It was kinda fun but so short! I played it through in just a few hours. And I'm moving in a week and have 5 kids so its not like I was just sitting at my computer playing. Overall, a disappointment due to its short playtime and lack of replayablilty. |
